Come celebrate Day of the Dead @ the Seattle Center this weekend. This is a free event! Loads of music, dance and arts and crafts for the whole family! Activities get underway Saturday morning @ 10 am!

What is Dia de los Muertos you ask? It is a day when people come together to celebrate loved ones that have passed away! Please read the poem bleow!

Paloma de San Vicente
tejida de tule blanco:
somos almas inocentes
almas del Chichiuacuauhco.
Acompaña al Sol poniente
con tu melodioso canto;
ofréndanos con juguetes,
con tambores y silbatos,
con chocolate caliente
y con dulces de amaranto.
Palomita de San Juan
de alas de tejamanil:
somos almas del Mictlán
te venimos a pedir
coloques en nuestro altar
Cempoalxochitl y Jazmín
en un brasero el copal,
en un plato el zacahuil,
en un vasito el mezcal
y en el cielo tu perfi l.
