Our
belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only
criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. For that reason we are
offering a scholarship that will be awarded on the basis of character, as
determined by evaluated the essays that are submitted. Scholarships are
intended for our future leaders across a wide spectrum of fields of study. This
award is available to high school seniors and all students attending a post
secondary educational facility.
You are not required to be taking Engineering courses to be eligible.

Act
Six is Washington's only full-tuition, full-need urban and community leadership
scholarship. Act Six scholars: Must be high school seniors planning to graduate
in 2011 or previously graduated from high school in 2009 or 2010. Students
currently enrolled at a four year college are not eligible to apply. Applicants must be passionate about learning,
eager to foster intercultural relationships, willing to step out of their comfort
zones, committed to serving those around them, ready to make a difference on
campus and at home.

Bank will award 30 to 40 $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to
attend accredited two- or four- year colleges full time next fall. Award
recipients are selected through a random drawing process. No essays, no minimum

There is no deadline, but you must be a senior. Write an essay (600-1000 words)
about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or
alcohol abuse, how it was dealt with, and, in your opinion what was right or
wrong about the way the incident or problem was handled. The best essays win
the scholarships and will be published in ALERT Magazine. You must mail your

American Chemical Society sponsors scholarship programs for qualified
applicants who want to enter the fields of chemistry, biochemistry, or chemical
engineering, and students seeking a two-year degree in chemical technology. The
