Compare Notes With Your Boss!

When employees write out what they do for a company and their immediate supervisors write what they think they do, there’s often a big discrepancy? Why is this important?

  • If you and your boss have different ideas about your goals and priorities, you may be held responsible for something you didn’t know was expected of you.

  • You may be given assignments, or decisions may be made about you, that seem inappropriate to you.

  • You’re likely being judged by criteria that would be news to you.

  • You’re probably making contributions that would be news to your boss.

Make time to compare notes with your boss. You will be the winner. And you won’t have to worry about whether you’re doing the job that’s expected.
