Come one Come all! Auditions for The Spring Play!

Auditions for the spring play will be held on Feb. 11th and 12th after school (2:15) at the MPS.

The play is entitled I Hate Hamlet by Paul Rudnick and students from all the schools on the Evergreen campus are encouraged to audition or be part of the technical crew.

The play is about a cheesy soap star actor who moves out to New York after his show gets cancelled. While there, he moves into the penthouse apartment formerly owned by the legendary actor John Barrymore. He reluctantly takes a gig playing Hamlet for a Shakespeare in the Park performance, and is going to quit but Barrymore’s ghost appears to him to tutor him for this larger-than-life role.

So, to sum up, it’s a play about acting, romance, Hollywood, ghosts and what play would be complete without a good sword fight?

There are 3 male and 3 female roles and there will be 2 casts. The auditions will consist of reading from scripts provided and so students who wish to try-out will not need to prepare anything ahead of time (although women who are interested should practice a German accent).
